We tracked down the inside scoop on what boatbuilders are up to next.
Jarrett Bay’s been doing big things lately, producing boats at a pace not often seen by custom builders. And for good reason, its products are some of the prettiest you’re likely to see out on the water. Right now the company is working on its largest build to date, a fully custom 90 that its workers are currently setting the jigging on.
Randy Ramsey, Jarrett Bay’s president, tells me the boat will be notable for the large amounts of carbon fiber being used in the build, to keep the weight down. It’s an expensive material, but Ramsey is enjoying the fruits of a fully committed owner. “It’s really fun and really cool to work on a project where the owner isn’t gun shy on providing resources for you to do some really innovative things,” he says. Yeah, I bet it is.
