Viking Yachts showcases its new fleet at 2015 Miami Boat Show:
Viking 52 Open
The new Viking 52 Open makes its inaugural appearance at the Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show joining its stable mates, the 52 Sport Tower and 52 Sport Coupe. Built on the hull of the popular 52 Convertible, the boat has an aggressive entry, 12-degree transom deadrise and molded strakes for lift and planing efficacy. The resin infused hull features a matrix of end-grain balsa and foam core sandwiched between Aramid and E-glass hybrid fiberglass laminates with custom blended epoxy and polyester resins, and vacuum-bagged bulkheads throughout. The command deck with its fiberglass wraparound windshield includes triple helm seats, a molded console with stowage and refrigeration, plus a convenient dinette. The cockpit with an observation mezzanine includes 142 square-feet of desirable features including a transom door, transom fish box, fresh and raw-water wash down systems, tackle stowage and in-deck molded fish and dunnage boxes. The three-stateroom, two-head layout also offers a comfortable salon and full-feature galley. The Palm Beach Towers’ tuna tower adds a finishing touch. MAN V12 1400 CRM diesels provide cruising speeds in the high 30 knot range with the top end of 40 plus knots depending upon load, sea conditions and other variables.
