The Coast Guard says two people were injured when a charter vessel ran aground Sunday afternoon along the Outer Banks near Nags Head.
The 55-foot charter vessel named Outer Limits went aground near the
Walter Slough Channel. The Coast Guard received the call at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Officials say a good Samaritan was the first to respond the Outer Limits, which took four people to Dare County EMS at the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center. Two people were then transported to the Outer Banks Hospital. It’s not clear how severe the injuries were.
The Coast Guard says Sea Tow freed the charter vessel. The Coast Guard crew escorted the charter vessel to the Oregon Inlet Fishery Center.
There were no reports of damage to the charter vessel or signs of pollution.
