Angler is a real jet-setter Sometimes, the best ideas are the simplest ones, the kind that make people slap their foreheads and lament that they didn’t think of them.
Brian Lockwood gets that all the time.
About 10 years ago, living on the water in Poquoson, Lockwood started using his Jet Ski to catch bait for the next day’s fishing trip. As he ventured farther and farther in search of bait, it occurred to him that maybe he didn’t need that big gas-guzzling boat. He was catching plenty of fish this way.
“I started going across the [ Chesapeake] Bay over to the Eastern Shore, then out to the Cell,” Lockwood said. “I thought, ‘Man, I need to put some rod holders on this.'”
So he did. Then, four years ago, he took the next step, buying a big Jet Ski and having it customized, transforming the Yamaha SUV 1200 into an all-out fishing machine.
