Toby’s Dream Foundation will host its first Rockfish Tournament Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010. Boats will take off from Marina Shores in Virginia Beach.
The foundation provides dreams for children with life-threatening illnesses in Hampton Roads and the Eastern Shore.
“Each dream costs roughly $5,500 and with this tournament, we hope to give every child in our community who is living with a life-threatening illness the chance to experience their most fantastic dream,” said Joan Steele, the foundation’s executive director.
Early registration is available for $350 per boat until Dec. 4. Then, the price goes up to $400 per boat.
Registration starts at 5:30 p.m. at Marina Shores on Dec. 10. The Captain’s meeting will follow at 7 p.m. The tournament begins Dec. 11 at 7 a.m. and concludes at 3:30 p.m. A party to honor the participants will run from 5 to 9 p.m. Winners will be announced and awards given for first, second and third place. Additional door prizes will be awarded.
