Repairs to Rudee Inlet Bridge to be addressed November 15th @ 6:30pm

If you fish or boat out of Rudee Inlet, you might want to attend a meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cooke Elementary School in Virginia Beach.

The meeting is hosted by the Virginia Beach Department of Public Works’ Operation Division, which is planning to make repairs to the fender piles, timber wales and hardware that support the Rudee Inlet Bridge.

During repairs, which are scheduled to be made through March, the inlet from the bridge west will have to be closed to through traffic periodically.

The meeting will address when those intermittent closures will be and for how long. The department wants to minimize the impact on boaters, which will be difficult to do because the period is during the height of the ocean striped bass season.

Cooke Elementary is at 1501 Mediterranean Ave.
