Fishing for striped bass was good Tuesday and Wednesday. Andy Grossman at Riptide Bait and Tackle in Brigantine reported he weighed 12 bass caught from Brigantine beaches Wednesday. They were topped by a 35-pound bass from Tom Pruchnicki.
Grossman said he had more than 60 weighins last weekend.
They had a good bite going in the Long Beach Island Surf Fishing Classic the same days. Thomas Law Sr. of Beach Haven picked a 41.38-pound bass with bunker at Spray Beach. Joanne Sullivan of Brant Beach caught a 12.19 bluefish Tuesday and followed it up yesterday with a 13.19 blue.
