Eight people competing in a charity team fishing tournament are safe after their boat sank Friday. It happened at the Barta Billfish Tournament, which raises money for the Boys & Girls Club.
Rick Sykes says he and seven other people were on the boat "Reel Time" when it took on water and started sinking around 9 a.m.
"We jumped off, inflated the raft on the front of the boat, grabbed our life jackets and waited for someone to come," said Sykes.
