It appears that the fishermen’s march on Washington was a huge success.
There were close to 4,000 fishermen from as far away as California and Alaska and nearby Maryland and Virginia, as well as many other coastal states.
Both recreational and commercial fishermen came together for this one cause, as these restrictions affect both groups.
Federal statistics from 2008 show recreational fishing generated $48 billion for the economy and commercial harvests were $26.4 billion
