American Global Yacht Group has entered into an agreement to acquire Southport Boat Works. The agreement is expected to be completed within the next few weeks.
AGYG says it will continue to produce Southport fiberglass sportfishing boats at the 52,000-square-foot plant in Leland, N.C. Southport builds a line of 26- and 28-foot sportfishing boats and distributes them through dealerships in the United States, Puerto Rico, Australia and Europe.
