Congress has voted to continue a recreational boat exemption from permit requirements that were being considered by the Environmental Protection Agency.
In the EPA’s latest permit-regulation draft for vessels, the agency wanted to lump smaller recreational boats in with bigger commercial tankers and container ships under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System.
