Chesapeake Angler Spadefish Trip

We made our first spade fishing trip to the Chesapeake tower. We had lines in the before 6am. It took a little while before my crew landing our first spade it was a very small one but it and few others made into the box. We did get a few that push 8lbs. It took us until 11:30am to get our limit for 5 Anglers. The fish were holding close to the structure and seem to want a larger piece of clam. The shadows did better for us than the out in the sun. I was pretty happy to get a limit of average size spades today. Getting clams is going to be tough in the next few weeks. Let the Spade Games begin and good luck to every one and tight lines
